„Palliare“ is latin and means something like „to cover with a coat“ and describes the aim of this care. Cicely Saunders, an English physician (1918-2005), who is the founder of modern palliative care, explained the concept of palliative care in a famous sentence: „It is not about giving the life more days, it is about giving the days more live/life?”
Palliative care is your own protective coat as you live with cancer. This care can help to relief pain, giving quality of life back and help you to live withcancer. Like a coat this care must ”fit” you and your needs.
